The Indiana girls track and field team took 3rd place overall Saturday at the 92nd Annual Indiana County Track and Field Meet at Marion Center. The girls were only a half point behind 2nd place Marion Center and 1.5 points behind United who won the girls meet.
Indiana was led by a pair of 1st place finishes by senior Abby Myers in the 200 and 400 meters. Myers set a new County Meet and school record while winning the 200 meters in a time of 26.0 seconds. Teammate Maddie Redhead-Kriston also bettered the previous records with her 2nd place effort of 26.1 seconds. In the 400 meter race Myers bettered the field with her time of 59.3 seconds.
Also winning individual gold for the girls was Faith Hartle in the pole vault (8′). The 4×400 meter relay team of Myers, Redhead-Kriston, Melanie Zolocsik, and Grace Woolslayer also took 1st place with a time of 4:15.3.
The girls will hit the track again this Tuesday at Hollidaysburg.
