Congratulations to senior Jeremy Thomas for being recipient of the 2018 Scott A. Zellem Memorial Award presented to the MVP of the Indiana High School Homecoming Football Game!
Lt. Commander Scott Zellem of the United States Navy, died August 10, 2004 when his S-3B Viking surveillance aircraft crashed on the island of Kita Iwo Jima, Japan. The aircraft was on a nighttime surveillance mission against a suspected Al Qaeda affiliated merchant ship.
Scott was a standout linebacker/tight end for Indiana during the 1984-86 football seasons. He was a three-year letter winner as Indiana compiled a 25-6-1 record during his three years. Scott was voted team MVP and conference defensive player of the year for the 1986 season. He was also selected to play in the Big 33 Football Classic. Scott played linebacker for the Navy football team from 1987-90.
