Indiana’s Kelsey Heckert and Lauren Bertig earned the WPIAL AA doubles title with a 6-2, 3-6, 7-6(2) win over Crista Nativio and Abbey Demofonte of Neshannock.  The match featured 2 hours and 20 minutes of all sorts of creative points, momentum swings, and athleticism.  Heckert earns her second consecutive WPIAL gold medal.  She teamed up with

WPIAL AA Tennis Tournament

Indiana’s Kelsey Heckert lost to Knoch’s Brooke Bauer 6-1, 6-0 in the consolation match of the wpial AA singles tournament.  Kelsey is only the second Indiana player to reach the second day of this tournament.  Lucy Bujdos accomplished the same feat when Kelsey was a freshman on the team four years ago.  Lucy now is the

Indiana’s Kelsey Heckert defeated Olivia O’Brian (Vincentian) 10-0 in round one and then defeated Christina Walton (Sewickley Academy) 10-4 before losing to Katherine Marx (Our Lady of Sacred Heart) 6-4, 6-0.  Kelsey will face Knoch’s Brooke Bauer tomorrow in the consolation match with the winner earning a berth in the PIAA singles tournament.
