CONGRATULATIONS TO ZACH PALKO – WPIAL SECTION 3AA SINGLES TITLE

  WPIAL SECTION 3AA SINGLES TITLE       Zach Palko defeated Patrick Smith (Knoch) 6-1, 6-3 at Valley HS to earn the WPIAL Section 3AA singles title. Zach will represent Indiana at the WPIAL singles tournament on Thursday, May 3 at Shady Side Academy.  “Zach had to adapt his style of play throughout the tournament

WPIAL SECTION 3AA SINGLES TOURNAMENT

Giaco Gentile and Zach Palko represented IHS at the WPIAL Section 3AA singles tournament held at Valley High School on April 30.   Giaco defeated Richie Lyons (Riverview) 10-1 and lost to Patrick Smith (Knoch) 10-3.  Zach defeated Chase Conroy (Riverview) 10-1, Noor Buchi (Burrell) 10-0, and Mike Odrey (Valley) 6-1, 6-7(3), 6-3 to advance

Boys’ Tennis Finished 6th at Altoona Invitational

Indiana finished 6th at the Altoona invitational tournament on April 13 and 14 despite missing two starters.  Giaco Gentile had the team’s best individual performance with a 4th place finish in the #2 singles flight.  Erie Cathedral Prep won the event for the second straight year.

Boys’ Tennis – Wins Three Matches in One Day

Indiana won three matches on April 6 as five teams played six total team matches at the Alpha Indoor Tennis facility in Harmar.  Matches were halted once a team reached 3 points.
